CCHC Informal Hearings

Center City Housing Corp. will provide applicants the opportunity to request an informal hearing when application for housing is denied. This hearing in the form of a meeting with the Center City Housing Executive Director and or Property Manager.

 

The time period to request a hearing will be (14) fourteen days following the day of the rejection notice.

 

The applicant may be represented or accompanied by a lawyer or any other representative or advocate at his or her own expense. If the applicant does not attend the hearing, he or she must sign a release authorizing the Executive Director to meet the specified representative.

 

Evidence may be considered without a regard to admissibility under the rules of evidence applicable to judicial proceedings.

 

The applicant will have the opportunity to dispute evidence obtained by Center City or present new evidence but all such evidence must be verifiably true. 

 

The hearing determination will be made based on a preponderance of the evidence.

 

The hearing determination will be made within (14) fourteen days and be provided in writing unless there is an agreement for an extension of this time period between Center City and the applicant.
