Grounds For Rejection

An Applicant who refuses to provide complete information will be denied.

 

An applicant furnishing false or misleading information will be denied.

 

An applicant whose references disclose negative rental history will be denied. All applicants must demonstrate the absence of a record of violence against persons, disturbance of neighbors, destruction of property, or living or housekeeping habits at prior residences which may adversely affect the health, safety or welfare of other tenants.

 

An applicant will be denied if any member of the household has been evicted from any federally assisted site for drug related criminal activity within the past three years. 

 

An applicant will be denied based on household member’s illegal drug use, alcohol abuse, or sex offender status.

 

An applicant with insufficient income, such that an applicant’s rent as a percentage of household income exceeds 50% will be denied. (Applicants for market rate single room occupancy (SRO) housing may be granted an exception to this requirement.)

 

NOTE:

An applicant who is denied may request and appeal. Upon review of any extenuating circumstances, Center City Housing may reconsider the application.
